Salt Spray Testing
Neutral salt spray testing evaluates corrosion resistance of plated surfaces under controlled conditions and helps identify early coating deterioration.
Rolling Abrasion Testing
Repeated rolling and contact simulate mechanical wear, helping evaluate whether the jewelry surface can maintain its finish during repeated use.
Local Friction Testing
Localized rubbing focuses on high-contact areas to evaluate surface wear and plating stability where jewelry is most likely to experience friction.
Plating Hardness Testing
Hardness testing helps assess the resistance of plated surfaces to scratching and mechanical damage, supporting more consistent finishing quality.
Plating Color Evaluation
A controlled color evaluation cabinet is used to compare plating colors under standardized lighting conditions, helping reduce visible color differences between batches and maintain consistent brand finishes.
Plating Thickness Testing
Plating thickness is checked to verify coating consistency. For applicable plating specifications, we target a coating thickness of >1 μm according to the agreed production requirement.
PVD Coating Technology
PVD: Physical Vapor Deposition
PVD stands for Physical Vapor Deposition. It is a coating process performed in a high-vacuum environment, typically at controlled temperatures. In the vacuum chamber, positively charged ions and inert gases create the conditions needed for the coating material to be deposited onto the jewelry surface.
Unlike conventional electroplating, PVD uses a physical vapor deposition process inside a vacuum chamber. Jewelry components are placed in the chamber, the environment is evacuated, and controlled electrical and gas conditions support the deposition of the coating material.
For jewelry brands, the key advantages are durability, wear resistance and stable color performance. PVD can be especially suitable for stainless steel jewelry where long-lasting surface finishes are important.
